In particular, the Al-Hol camp is a concerning location as it hosts more than 8,000 former ISIS members among its nearly 53,000 residents. Here, several active jihadist cells are known to perpetrate attacks and torture, enabling the caliphate's extreme Islamic ideology to persist within the camp's perimeter.

It is estimated that around 6,000 workers died in the emirate since FIFA awarded it the hosting of the World Cup. The majority of these workers were from countries and regions like Nepal, Bangladesh, India, and sub-Saharan Africa, making up over 90% of the emirate's population today.

The film go through the entire process, from the hunt itself to the meticulous preservation of the animal's body. The film was selected to be screened at the DocsBarcelona International Documentary Film Festival in 2019.

Winter hardships for migrant families in Bosnia

BOSNIA & CROATIA, 2020

Asylum-seekers in Bosnia risk their lives trying to cross into neighboring EU country Croatia. To avoid detection by authorities, they must traverse a treacherous route through the hidden mountains of northwest Bosnia that can take days or even weeks. This route is commonly known as "The Game," and those who play it risk being caught and pushed back to Bosnia.

Maite stays

Several neighboring organizations manage to stop the eviction of Maite Mendivil, 58, one of the last residents of Las Ramblas, Barcelona. From early in the morning, dozens of residents and activists blocked the door of the building, preventing access to the Mossos d'Esquadra police. After four tense hours with some police charges, the neighborhood once again avoided evicting a neighborhood resident.

In October 2019, Spain's Supreme Court announced a highly controversial ruling on the Catalan independence process. The ruling resulted in the sentencing of several political and social leaders, who had organized the 2017 Self-determination Referendum, to 100 years in prison collectively. This sparked a wave of protests and unrest throughout Catalonia, with people taking to the streets for a week in various demonstrations, such as marches, rallies, and acts of civil disobedience.
